Frost-Protected Shallow Foundation
Currenly, few codes accept this foundation type. However, this experiemntal detail illustrates the cost-saving potential of shallow footings for construction labor, materials, time and long-term energy consumption. Shallow footings have been used successfully for decades in the construction industry.
